In Culinary Terms, is this the Most Densely Populated 100-metre Stretch in Downtown Nassau?

Downtown Nassau has no shortage of dining options – from fast food to fast casual to five-star. On a recent stroll about town, we noticed that one street in particular has what is perhaps the most culinary options per square foot than anywhere else in the area. Charlotte Street north – the about 100 metre stretch between Bay Street and Woodes Rodgers Walk – has a number of available dining options within feet of each other. From familiar brands like Starbucks and Subway (American) sitting side-by-side and directly across the narrow street from Hard Rock Cafe (American), to Euro Tandoor (Indian), to Double Dragon (Chinese) restaurant, to Athena Cafe (Greek).

Also on Charlotte Street, about 50 metres on the other side of Bay Street, you’ll find Van Breugel’s (European) and local favourite Jimmy’s (Bahamian).

Of course, it’s no coincidence why these eateries are clustered in this small stretch of Downtown Nassau: the main exit that Cruise passengers disembark from ships in port flows directly on to Charlotte Street north.

Location, location, location!
