Dispatch: 2017 Houston Food Festival

The 2017 Houston Food Fest: Taste Houston took place this past weekend and we dipped in for a minute. Houston is known for its ethnic diversity and this much anticipated food festival offered a taste of what it’s like to live and eat in the city.  This year, vendors served everything from lobster rolls to vegan donuts, but it only took a few minutes before spotting that familiar green, black and yellow of the Jamaican flag kickin’ up in the humid Houston air.

Cool Runnings, a Jamaican restaurant here in Houston was, naturally, a must stop. They had a full menu including the crowd favourite jerk chicken, but I decided on just a beef patty — no regrets! It had the perfect amount of spice, the crust was perfect, and it was just warm enough. You can never go wrong with an authentic beef patty.
