As a private chef, his delicacies have been requested throughout The Bahamas and the Caribbean and as an advocate of Farm to Table cuisine, Chef Hall educates everyone – including fellow chefs – on a style he describes as “simply using local ingredients with global techniques”. Marlon James became the first Jamaican to win the prestigious Man Booker Prize for his novel, A Brief History of Seven Killings. The book, set in Kingston Jamaica gives a fictional history of the attempted assassination of Bob Marley.
The 44 year old who once ‘gave up on publishing’ and said ‘Clearly, I’m not meant to write books.’ is now the winner of the leading award for high quality literary fiction written in English.
